This perfume has been exclusively stocked after being requested in by none other than Modest Street. Everytime I’d tell her about a new perfume I had in store she’d talk about her first love; NOA by Cacharel. As an influencer than has tons of makeup, hijabs and outfits I was struck by the revelation that Noa by Cacharel was the only perfume she ever bought for herself and at that time the only perfume she owned. She had ONE scent in her Perfume Closet and it was this!
So I set her a challenge to expand her scent palette and I’ve been helping her with this ever since, but she also set me a tall order and challenged me to bring the brand on board and stock what had been her signature scent for years. A personal recommendation on a perfume from her to me. A year or so later (yes it took THAT long!) here we are with me stocking it; I’m pleased to say another thing off my bucket List! Hope you enjoy the discounts and the recommendation from Modest street!
The brand describes Cacharel as a perfumes that speaks to us of serenity, wisdom, truth and hope – a theme that we have seen Modest Champion her whole journey. She has fought for serenity. She struggled and learnt wisdom through those struggles. Finally, she has always stayed real and held on to truth and hope through everything.
The scent itself is a sweet and powdery, probably from that fact that it’s one of the few perfumes that opens with musk in the top notes rather than feature musk in the base like most scents do. It’s more in sync with Modest Streets offline persona than her online one and so although you might not expect this to be Modest Street’s favourite perfume, I was not at all surprised. Online she exudes confidence and tons of it and can not sit still for even a minute, but offline she is actually shy, calm and collected – totally in tune with the subtle calming characteristics of the scent.
Although it has over 15 notes listed, not all are obvious seperately which make this a very well blended scent with only a few accords experienced as a whole. It’s soft, sweet, flowery, musky & powdery with touches of sensual woodiness coming through in the drydown.
It has green notes in it which give it it’s noticeability factor, despite it being a soft scent, it’s still noticeable. This is probably due to some unusual notes it has . For example if I told you it had green coriander in it you probably wouldn’t belive me; but it does! and that’s (I believe) what sets it apart from just being another floral, musky perfume.
Launched in 1998, over 20 years ago this scent is still demanded by Modest Street today – now THAT’S saying something!
