When Jas first sent me the prototype for this cleanser its formulation was completely different – it was an oily balm.
Having dry skin, I’m no stranger to oily formulations and don’t mind them per se, but I’ve got used to Jas being innovative and consistently stepping up her game, so I found myself thinking, hmmm hold on Jas, what are you actually bringing to the party this time? So, I put my hand on my heart & actually braced myself for telling her the truth… that this time I thought she had underdone herself, and actually she had it in her to bring out a better version of this.
I remember her being mortified when I likened the experience of using it, to a blend of runny vaseline & the smell of vics. What I loved though, was what happened next… she took on board the feedback, rolled her sleeves up and went back to the drawing board to completely reformulate it.
I received a call some time later where she was just buzzing! She explained to me that she had reworked the formula into a a soft clay. She had kept in some pure essential oils, but whipped the consistency into a rich cloud. not only that, it was whipped at three different stages during production to get the texture just right. Now I was blown away, and said to her, YES, this is the Jas you’ve got me used to and these are the kind of specially formulated products you’ve gotten me used to!
This beautiful butter balm just reminds me of a mousse, it’s so indulgent and luxurious. I find it to be so soft & sometimes I use it alone or as a double cleanser depending on how much makeup I actually need to clear off my skin.
What started off as a product I was indifferent to, has ended up being a product that stands out from the crowd of cleansers I’ve tried & I’m so pleased that Jas came back fighting with this remastered version of her original prototype.
