Dominique Ropion

Dominique is a world renowned French perfumer who combines artistic creativity with scientific precision to craft iconic fragrances that embody elegance, balance, and lasting impression. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of the most prestigious fragrance houses, and created numerous signature scents establishing himself as one of the leading figures in the world of luxury perfumery, known for his pursuit of perfection and meticulously refined compositions.

Dominique Ropion was trained at Roure Bertrand Dupont and worked for Florasynth and Dragoco before ultimately joining IFF, where his work on fragrances both niche and mainstream has earned him countless accolades, including the prestigious International Fragrance Prize (what used to be known as the Prix Francois Coty).

Dominique Ropion is a French master perfumer celebrated for crafting iconic fragrances such as Alien for Mugler, La Vie est Belle for Lancôme, Flowerbomb for Viktor & Rolf, and Portrait of a Lady for Frédéric Malle. Trained at Roure in Grasse, he is known for balancing bold ingredients with precise harmony, blending artistry with technical mastery. A 2018 IFF Master Perfumer and 2023 Fragrance Foundation Lifetime Achievement honoree, he launched his own line, Aphorismes, in 2024.
