Jean-Louis Sieuzac is a renowned perfumer who created several iconic fragrances throughout his career. His best-known work, Kouros for Yves Saint Laurent (1976), became a cult classic despite early controversy over its bold, animalic character. He also developed celebrated perfumes such as Bel Ami for Hermès, Dune and Fahrenheit for Dior, and Opium for Yves Saint Laurent, while collaborating with brands including Shiseido and Oscar de la Renta. After joining Florasynth (later Symrise) in 1998, he continued creating acclaimed fragrances. Known for his modesty, Sieuzac believes perfumes should be judged by their scent alone, and his work has had a lasting influence on modern perfumery.
